Stuart Harmon
Stuart Harmon (2021) is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and journalist who has produced a wide range of projects for PBS, BBC, VICE, The New York Times, CNN and several other networks. His film “Guns to Gloves” is one of The New York Times’ top viewed documentaries, garnering over 8 million views. In 2016 he produced a TV documentary about the female FARC guerillas of Colombia for the Emmy-nominated Viceland series “Woman.” His feature documentary film “The Money Stone” won Best Documentary at the Black Star International Film Festival, screened on BBC Africa and RT, and received glowing reviews by the BBC and The Boston Globe. In 2021 he was nominated for Deadline Club award for his work with The Intercept.
As a fellow, Stuart will work on his documentary, “Hangtown,” which delves into the contentious debate unfolding in Placerville, California over the town’s controversial symbol — the noose. The film has a PBS screening commitment and funding by the Berkeley Film Foundation.
