Megan Kimble
Megan Kimble is an author, editor and investigative reporter based in Austin, Texas. She covered food and agriculture for seven years as the founding editor of Edible Baja Arizona and author of “Unprocessed: My City-Dwelling Year of Reclaiming Real Food” (William Morrow, 2015), named a Southwest Book of the Year. As executive editor of the Texas Observer, Megan covered housing and transportation, including violations of the Fair Housing Act across Texas, uncovered evictions filed illegally during the pandemic and investigated the tenant screening industry (which was subsequently scrutinized by state and federal lawmakers). She’s also written for The Nation, Guardian, Bloomberg’s CityLab, Washington Post and Los Angeles Times.
During her Logan Nonfiction fellowship, Megan will focus on “City Limits,” a book about how the highway came to represent the story of American progress, the enormous social and environmental costs wrought by our allegiance to a life of increasing speed and dispersion, and the people who are fighting for a more sustainable, connected future. The book will be published by Crown Publishing.
