Gabrielle Ewing
Gabrielle Ewing (2021) is an award-winning producer and filmmaker based in Washington, D.C. She graduated with honors in Journalism and Film & Television from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and has since worked for NBC New York, CNN’s Documentary Unit and National Geographic. Gabrielle’s work has been recognized by the Webby’s, the Online Journalism Awards and The Society of Publication Designers. She edited and was associate producer on a short documentary about a transgender teen that was included in National Geographic’s gender issue, which was a finalist for a 2017 Pulitzer Prize in Explanatory Reporting. Gabrielle is a 2020 Docs in Progress Fellow, 202Creates resident and a Brown Girls Doc Mafia member. She serves on the editorial board of the World Congress of Scientific and Factual Producer, and was named the Filmmaker of the Month by the D.C. Office of Entertainment. She is currently an assistant director of programming for PBS Digital Studios in Washington, D.C.
As a Logan fellow, Gabrielle will work on her documentary, “Credible Fear,” which follows two women on opposite sides of the labyrinthine U.S. immigration system.
