Deborah Berry
Deborah Berry (2021) is an award-winning reporter with USA Today. She is on the national enterprise team and focuses on civil rights, voting rights and politics. She has been in journalism for 35 years, most of it spent as a congressional correspondent. She was part of the team at Newsday that won a Pulitzer in 1997 for its coverage of the crash of flight TWA 800. She is the secretary on the board of the Washington Press Club Foundation and a graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at the University of Maryland.
As a Logan Nonfiction Program fellow, Deborah will work on a book about the work of Rep. James Clyburn, the highest ranking African American in Congress and a civil rights legend.
