Amanda Morrison
Amanda Morrison (2020) is a documentary filmmaker based in Montana. Her award-winning senior thesis examined the media leverage and policy power of China’s feminist movement. Amanda worked as a researcher at the U.S. Asia Law Institute and has published articles in The Boston Globe and The Atlantic. She has worked in film development in Los Angeles and produced short films on topics including gender identity, clean water access, urban redlining, and small business closure during the COVID-19 pandemic. A National YoungArts Winner in 2015, Amanda explores authority, eccentrics, and human identity on film. She recently completed a Master’s in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing as a Schwarzman Scholar.
As a Logan fellow, Amanda will work on her first feature documentary, “The Women Who Dare To Sing,” about Chinese feminists confronting injustice in an authoritarian system.
